I oversee development and implementation of City policies and programs. I also monitor, advocate, and implement State and Federal legislation.
I received a BA in Communications from Saint Mary’s College of California and a Certificate in Land Use and Environmental Planning from UC Davis Extension.
My career affords me different challenges, opportunities, and experiences. I see our positive impact on the community, particularly the underserved/underrepresented populations.
I incorporate my queer identity into my career through transparency and authenticity. I also lead a County-wide initiative to enhance workplace diversity and inclusion and address our inherent biases.
Fortunately, I have not encountered negative professional environment experiences due to my queer identity. Acceptance of self and positive attitudes generally result in professional interactions.
I am fortunate to have multiple mentors that are allies of LGBTQ+ community. My mentors are open, inclusive, strong sounding boards, listen, provide guidance rather than direction, and are passionate about their career/colleagues.
